Job description:
Podiatrists diagnose and treat disorders, diseases and injuries of the foot and lower leg. Podiatrists treat corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, bunions, heel spurs, and arch problems; ankle and foot injuries, deformities, and infections; and foot complaints associated with diseases such as diabetes.
Work environment:
Podiatrists usually work in their own private practices, although some form group practices with other health care practitioners.
Training requirements:
Podiatrists are required to earn their doctorate. They are licensed by the State of California Board of Podiatric Medicine.
