Certified Nurse Assistant
Salary range:
$25,262 – $30,498
Job description:
Certified nurse assistants perform direct care and routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. They answer patients’ call lights, deliver messages, serve meals, make beds, and help patients to eat, dress and bathe. They also may take patients' temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and blood pressure, and help them to get into and out of bed and walk.
Work Environment:
Certified nurse assistants work in hospitals or nursing care facilities.
Training Requirements:
Certified nurse assistants must complete a minimum of 150 hours of training and pass a certification exam. They are licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health.
